SJMS Special Events and Programs:
Renaissance Program: encourages, supports and recognizes students for academic achievement. Based on grade point average, students are eligible to receive cards that can be redeemed for special privileges, such as field trips or on-campus events. The higher the grade point average, the more privileges are offered...

TEAM: In Team classes, which are held once a month, students receive an enrichment class in a teacher's area of interest and expertise. Students rotate to a different teacher each month in order to enjoy a rich variety of curriculum-related offerings.

Conflict Mediation: SJMS conflict mediators are students trained to help their fellow students resolve conflicts before they become unmanageable problems. To receive help from a mediator, students submit a request stating the reason for the conflict (name calling, rumors, etc.) and the seriousness of the situation.
Cesar Chavez Club: In this club, students learn about the values of the humanitarian/activist Cesar Chavez (service to others, respect for life and the environment, acceptance of all people...) and then enact them in the community. The goal is to allow the students of San Jose to realize their own potential as planners and activists, leaders and good Samaritans. The club runs three days a week immediately after school for one hour and entails a number of service projects.
